Handling

- Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame.

- Avoid generating mist. Use corrosive-resistant transfer equipment when dispensing.
- Empty containers may contain hazardous residues.
- Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
Personal protective equipment
- Hands: chemical or rubber gloves
- Eyes: chemical safety goggles, plus a face shield where there is potential for eye contact
- Body: rubber apron, lab coat, rain jacket, pants or overalls as appropriate
- Feet: neoprene or rubber boots
- Respiratory: an approved air-purifying respirator with acid mist cartridges where concentrations warrant it
- Ventilation: use local exhaust ventilation; ventilate storage areas
Storage
Store between −10 and 30 °C in a cool, shaded area away from sunlight and high temperatures. Do not store above 30 °C and keep from freezing. Keep the container closed when not in use. Vent caps should be checked with full personal protection. Anyone using this product should be trained on its hazards.
Incompatible materials
May react violently with strong acids, producing chlorine gas, which is toxic. Other incompatible materials include organic material, cellulose, oxidizable materials, ammonia, urea, ammonium salts, ethyleneimine, cyanides, nitrogen compounds, alcohols, metals and metal oxides. Reacts with metals to produce flammable hydrogen gas. Unstable above 40 °C and on exposure to sunlight; do not allow solutions to evaporate dry.
